A driver who was “in the process” of getting a license would have his process delayed due to his drunken actions.
On May 18th at approximately 9:14 p.m. Deputy C.T. Richardson was in the area of Richmond Highway and Centreport Parkway. While patrolling, he observed a Honda Pilot failing to maintain the lane of travel. Deputy Richardson conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver.
The 41-year-old driver had signs of intoxication, including the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. When asked for the run of the mill information of license and registration, the driver admitted he did not have a license, but was “in the process of getting one.” In the process is still driving without a license. Upon further inspection, numerous cans of alcoholic beverages were located scattered throughout the vehicle.
The driver was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, driving without a license, failure to maintain the lane of travel, and refusal. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
