They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but for one Stafford man it cost him a bond of $5,000.
On May 3rd at approximately 11:27 a.m. Deputy S.C. Martin responded to 7-Eleven, located at 201 Garrisonville Road, for a crash. While no one was injured, the at fault driver fled the scene.
Deputy Martin made contact with the victim to uncover what occurred. It was discovered the victim was stopped in the dreadful Garrisonville Road traffic. While there, a Honda exited the 7-Eleven parking lot and drove into the side of the victim’s vehicle. Luckily, the victim acted quickly and made sure to obtain the suspect’s license plate and even a photo of the driver.
Using the information provided by the victim, Deputy Martin was able to locate the vehicle in question at a residence in North Stafford. Using the photo provided, Deputy Martin was able to make contact with the driver, identified as Josue Leonardo Huevo, 21. Huevo had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the crash. He would also have a suspended license.
Huevo was charged with felony hit and run, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content above .2, and driving while suspended. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 secured bond. |
