A Stafford woman wanted out of Spotsylvania added additional charges after a late-night standoff Saturday night.

On July 22nd at approximately 8:50 p.m. deputies responded to High Street in attempts to locate Jessica Mullins, 38 at her residence. After deputies observed her within the residence, they made several announcements for her to exit; however, she did not do so. This resulted in a barricade situation. Deputies were not going to just walk away.

After nearly two hours of attempting to have her exit without avail, deputies breached the residence. Mullins, as well as, a juvenile family member, were detained and escorted out. Despite her claims of not being able to hear deputies’ commands over the loud speaker, she had a bag packed “in preparation” for her incarceration. It was also discovered Mullins advised the juvenile to stay barricaded in the residence despite him wanting to leave and for her to turn herself in.

Mullins was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail where a strip search was conducted. Jail staff was able to locate a condom filled with suspected controlled substances inside her. Mullins was charged with obstruction of justice, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, felony by prisoner, as well as, served on her outstanding warrant. She was held without bond.
