Stafford, VA. A suspect behind a home invasion that occurred in Stafford County in 2017 was arrested on Tuesday with the assistance of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia.

On May 23, 2017, at approximately 11:45 a.m., units with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on the 3000 block of Warrenton Road. The caller told the Sheriff’s Office that his wife had been tied up and held at gunpoint by an unknown male subject.

The victim told deputies that she was walking out to her vehicle around 11:00 a.m. when someone approached her from behind and grabbed her. The suspect then pointed a gun at her head and took her inside the residence.

The suspect demanded that the victim take him to the safe inside the residence. He tied up the victim and stole several firearms from the safe. He then disappeared from her view. The victim eventually managed to free herself and call her husband who notified the Sheriff’s Office. Units canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

In May 2019, detectives received information on the identity of the suspect behind the home invasion. The suspect was identified as Mitchell O’Shea Wilson, 46, of Axton, VA.

Wilson was arrested by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office on June 11, 2019 following a 14-mile pursuit. He was taken into custody without further incident and charged with felony eluding law enforcement, felony habitual offender, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon.

He also was served outstanding warrants from Stafford County related to the 2017 home invasion including robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, abduction, breaking and entering, grand larceny, grand larceny of a firearm, and larceny with the intent to sell.

The suspect is being held in the Henry County Jail without bond. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
