Special Event Informational Package & Application

The Stafford County Sheriff's Office internship program is designed to provide qualified college students the opportunity to interact within a functioning law enforcement agency.  Students will have the opportunity to see and have firsthand experience in the various operational and administrative facets of the Sheriff's Office.

The aim of the internship is to provide the student with basic information that will serve as an overview of law enforcement.  Interns will see the current criminal justice system in action with the greater emphasis on law enforcement, followed by a closer look at Sheriff's operations.

The internship program will have a maximum length of four weeks or 20 eight hour days.  The program length up to the maximum will be dictated by the college/university requirements.  Summer internships only are offered.

Interns must be residents of Stafford County, enrolled in a college or university, provide a letter from the college or university stating that the internship is a course requirement and be in acceptance of a schedule created by the Sheriff's Office.

Applications for the internship program should be submitted by February 15th of each year.  Contact 540-658-4470 or SheriffHR@staffordcountyva.gov to apply.
