Stafford detectives are on a roll when it comes to hide and seek! As of yesterday afternoon, Kiana Sanders, 28, of Woodbridge, was located and arrested. The woman wanted in three different jurisdictions now sits in Rappahannock Regional Jail.

On July 30th at 10:51 p.m. Sergeant R.S. Dominguez conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Austin Ridge Drive and Shields Road for a driver failing to maintain the lane of travel. The driver, Sanders, attempted to provide a fictitious social security number, but was positively identified and was discovered to be wanted. Sanders made the choice to put the vehicle in gear and sped away from Sergeant Dominguez, who did not pursue the vehicle due to the fact there was a child improperly restrained in the rear seat.

Since her fleeing Stafford, detectives have been working on multiple leads to discover her whereabouts. Once again, their hard work paid off and on August 2nd at approximately 7:23 p.m. she was located at a Chick-Fil-A in Prince William County. With the assistance of the Prince William County Police Department, Sanders was taken into custody. The young child with her during the pursuits and her arrest was turned over to social services.

Sanders was wanted out of Stafford County for felony eluding, felony child endangerment, obstruction of justice, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, transporting a child with no restraint device, providing a false identity to law enforcement, and failure to maintain the lane of travel. But that’s not all folks.

Sanders fleeing from Stafford was not her first fleeing attempt. Sanders was wanted out of Henrico for felony eluding, felony child endangerment, obstruction of justice, two counts of reckless driving, transporting a child with no restraint device, and defective equipment. But wait, there’s more. Sanders was also wanted out of New Kent for felony eluding, two counts of child endangerment, three counts of reckless driving, and transporting a child with no restraint device. But wait, there’s more. Sanders recently had a pursuit in Spotsylvania as well and warrants will be obtained at a later date. Luckily, she was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond, so they will have no trouble serving her on those warrants as well.

Great work to our detectives for locating yet another wanted individual. Thank you to not only the Prince William County Police Department for their assistance, but to the community for their tips.
