A Stafford woman was arrested for DUI and added to her legal troubles when she pulled a suspected crack pipe from her pocket.

On March 15th at 9:54 p.m. Deputy J.D. Hurt was patrolling Lakesedge Lane when he observed a vehicle parked in the middle of the road. He flashed his lights to get the driver’s attention, but she took no notice of the marked police car. Deputy Hurt activated his cruise lights (non-flashing emergency lights) and the driver began to move, but was obviously agitated as she was waving her arms around.

The driver pulled haphazardly into a parking area, taking up several spaces and suddenly accelerated into an unoccupied, parked vehicle. Deputy Hurt made contact with the driver and identified her as Wanda Wilson, 50. As the deputy prepared to offer field sobriety tests, Wilson began emptying her pockets and pulled out a suspected crack pipe. Deputy Hurt then located a suspected controlled substance in her possession.

Wilson was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of a controlled substance. She was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until able to participate in a bail hearing.

Information was provided to the owner of the vehicle that was struck in the parking lot.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
