On February 20 at 7:35 p.m., Deputy A.G. Booth responded to the intersection of Winterberry Drive and Butler Road for a report of a possible drunk driver. Upon arrival, Deputy Booth located the vehicle parked in the roadway. The driver, Gregory Dorr Jr., 34, of Stafford, smelled of alcoholic beverages and had slurred speech.

Deputy Booth attempted to administer field sobriety tests, but was unable to complete them due to Dorr becoming uncooperative. Dorr was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. As he was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, Dorr became belligerent. The transport would stop twice to reapply handcuffs after Dorr was able to maneuver his handcuffs to the front of his body.

After stopping a second time to reapply handcuffs, deputies attempted to apply leg restraints and Dorr kicked a deputy in the leg. He ultimately had to be taken to the ground where he was successfully restrained. Dorr sustained a cut on his forehead from the gravel on the ground. As deputies attempted to place Dorr in the rear of the patrol vehicle, he bit a deputy in the thigh. Dorr was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for his cut.

At the hospital, Dorr was combative with deputies and hospital staff. He was eventually treated and transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Dorr was charged with driving under the influence-2nd offense in 5 years, two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, driving after forfeiture of license, and refusal of test. He was held without bond.
