Stafford, VA. A suspect was arrested in the early morning hours on Wednesday by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office for attempting to break into a local business.

On January 23, 2019, at approximately 3:22 a.m., Deputy Whitt responded to a business alarm at Chicas Deli Market located at 432 Garrisonville Road. Upon arrival, Deputy Whitt heard a loud banging noise at the rear of the building. Deputies Whitt and Philippsen proceeded to the back of the business and gave commands for the suspect to come out. The suspect fled from the rear of the business as deputies approached. Other deputies responded to assist with a perimeter and began canvassing the area.

While canvassing the area, deputies found a silver tennis shoe. They also discovered significant damage to the back door of the business.

Shortly thereafter, Deputy Powell located the suspect in the area of Mews Court and Onville Road. He was not wearing any shoes. She identified the suspect as Hussein Jarrar, 19, of Stafford.

Deputy Smith and his K9 partner, Lobo, arrived on scene and found the matching shoe in the same location where Deputy Powell observed the suspect emerge from a wooded area.

The suspect was taken into custody and incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail. He is charged with attempted breaking and entering and destruction of property.
