Stafford, VA. A female subject incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail for felony larceny has been charged with credit card theft and fraud after several stolen credit cards were discovered in her apartment.

On July 16, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Deputy Daniel Reed responded to a call at a residence in the northern end of the county from a male subject who discovered multiple stolen credit cards in his wife’s purse and dresser drawers as well as a credit card fraudulently obtained in his name. His wife, identified as Tracey Swett, 34, is currently incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

When the deputy arrived, the victim handed him three credit cards and two pieces of paper containing credit card numbers and personal information. The victim explained that the card in his name had been maxed out and was adversely affecting his credit. The deputy contacted the owners of the other credit cards and learned the victims had not given Swett permission to take or use the cards.

Swett was charged with four counts of credit card theft, credit card fraud, identity fraud, and obtaining money by false pretenses. She was held without bond on those charges.
