Stafford, VA. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance on Saturday that resulted in the apprehension of a suspect on drug and firearm related charges.

On December 9, 2017 at approximately 11:45 p.m., deputies responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they spoke with the caller who was standing in a driveway connected with two residences.

Deputies observed a man, later identified as Charles Quander Johnson, 42, emerge from the house in the back of the property and requested that he come talk with them in the driveway. The subject turned around and went back into the residence, prompting the deputy to call for back-up units. A few minutes later, the man re-emerged and the deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the house.

A search of the residence yielded a firearm and substances consistent with marijuana, PCP and cocaine. There were also signs of drug use and distribution.

Johnson was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail and is being held without bond. He is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substances, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs.
