By Public Information Officer M.C. MORRIS MONCURE
May 22, 2017

Late in the evening on May 19, 2017, Sgt. D.R. Colona received information from the staff at Mick’s Sports Bar and Grill, located at 2866 Jefferson Davis Highway, that six males had been refused entrance to their establishment because they would not provide identification. The males threatened to return with firearms and advised the staff that they were all “strapped.” The same males were intermittently seen by Mick’s staff driving through the parking lot in a tan minivan. At 1:00 AM, on May 20, 2017, Deputy B.M. Kanterman was on Crime Prevention in the area of Mick’s parking lot when he observed approximately 40 people begin to push, shove and punch each other. He immediately called for backup and made his way to the crowd in an attempt to break up the fight.

Other patrol units arrived, and the fight was quelled. While patrol units were investigating the fight, Deputy Kanterman observed a male that he had seen clearly involved in the altercation, attempting to leave. He was easily identified by his white shirt, black vest, ripped jeans and distinct ball cap prominently displaying an expletive. The male was standing nearby Sgt. Colona’s cruiser when Deputy Kanterman heard a metallic sound coming from the ground. He looked in that direction and observed a black handgun near the subject’s feet. Deputy Kanterman picked up and secured the loaded 9mm semi-automatic weapon. The male was immediately taken into custody and was found to also be in possession of marijuana.

The subject in custody was identified by a Mick’s employee to have been in the passenger seat of the tan minivan carrying the males who were earlier refused entrance.

Dominick Omega Ridore, age 29 of Overlook Court in Stafford, VA., was charged with Weapon Possession by a Felon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of Marijuana. He was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on no bond.
