An “estranged boyfriend” ended his Friday night behind bars after breaking into a residence.

On April 5th at approximately 6:07 p.m. Deputy J.R. Suarez responded to a residence in South Stafford for a past occurred assault. It was advised the victim was assaulted by a known male identified as Michael Odham, 52, of Stafford. Deputy Suarez made contact with the victim to understand what transpired.

The victim advised Odham responded to the residence and began yelling at her. The victim, in an attempt to separate herself from the situation, locked the doors of the residence. Odham proceeded to break into the residence. The victim was able to flee the residence and attempted to leave in her vehicle, but unfortunately, Odham’s vehicle was blocking her in. Odham would brandish a firearm while preventing the victim from leaving, and assaulted her. Eventually, Odham would enter the residence once again, giving the victim time to flee.

Due to the seriousness of the incident and the potential for further harm to the victim, Deputy Suarez responded to the magistrate to obtain warrants as detectives were contacted to assist in locating Odham. Just before 10: 00 p.m. detectives located Odham’s vehicle outside the Bearded Monkey, located at 564 Warrenton Road. Odham was located within the business and was taken into custody without incident.

Odham was charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, destruction of property, brandishing a firearm, assault and battery, as well as, abduction. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
