Believe it or not, just because you close the door on deputies doesn’t mean we’ll go away. A wanted 35-year-old female discovered this fact yesterday during her attempt to avoid being arrested.

On March 20th at approximately 9:19 p.m. Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to the Days Inn Motel, located at 14 Simpson Road, for a wanted person being located. The reporting party advised a female wanted out of Stafford County for a capias was currently within one of the rooms. While Deputy Sayegh responded to play the role of taxi to Rappahannock Regional Jail, the situation would prove to be not as easy.

Upon arriving at the room in question, the suspect peeked and poked her head out the door. Realizing it was a deputy and not the food she ordered from DoorDash, she quickly retreated back into her room and locked the door. She would refuse deputies commands to exit and even claimed she was not the wanted suspect we were looking for. Considering Deputy Sayegh was able to positively identify the suspect, this Jedi mind trick would not work, and deputies were not just going to walk away.

During the less than climatic standoff, staff requested the suspect be trespassed. That still did not motive the suspect to exit the room. With the help of staff, deputies made entry into the room. With nowhere to escape, and refusing to accept the jig was up, the suspect attempted to hide in the bathroom. That quickly did not work out as she hoped.

As a result of her attempting to prolong the inevitable, she was charged with trespassing and obstruction of justice due to her less than inviting behavior. She was also served on her outstanding warrant. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
