A 59-year-old repeat drunk driver was once again taken off Stafford’s roads yesterday afternoon.

On March 14th, at approximately 3:49 p.m., Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to the area of Shelton Shop Road and Mountain View Road for a report of a reckless driver. The caller advised a silver Hyundai was traveling significantly below the speed limit and swerved into oncoming traffic. Thanks to the caller’s updates and information, Deputy Vaughn was able to locate the suspect vehicle in the 1900 block of Mountain View Road. There, he made contact with the driver.

The driver, Regina Rodman, of Stafford, initially denied driving the vehicle; however, later admitted she was in fact behind the wheel to buy more alcohol. She further admitted to consuming wine just prior to driving. Deputy Vaughn observed several signs of intoxication including the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath and slurred speech. It was discovered Rodman had a revoked license due to a prior DUI related incident, and two previous DUI’s, most recently being in January of this year.

Rodman was charged with driving under the influence third offense within five years with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, as well as, driving after forfeiture of her license. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
