Even while grabbing dinner for the family, our deputies are committed to keeping Stafford County safe. A 45-year-old Locust Grove female was arrested for her third DUI within five years.

The day before National Margarita Day, February 21st, at approximately 8:19 p.m. Deputy G.P. McCaulley was off-duty in civilian clothes at Jersey Mikes, located at 810 Wonder Road. While ordering dinner for his family, Deputy McCaulley observed a female within the business who had slurred, incoherent speech, and was unsteady on her feet. Having worked numerous intoxication calls, Deputy McCaulley knew these signs well and quickly made a call to Deputy R.T. Philippsen.

Deputy McCaulley maintained a visual on the suspect as she got into the driver’s seat of her vehicle and turned it on. Before she was able to leave the parking lot, Deputy Philippsen arrived on scene and made contact with her. He confirmed the signs of intoxication and detained her. He would also discover this was not her first DUI.

The driver, Jamie Williams, was charged with driving under the influence third offense within five years with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2. Her sub sandwich would have to wait, for she was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Thank you to Deputy McCaulley for going above and beyond to keep Stafford County safe while in uniform or not. If you want to help keep Stafford safe too, you can join our commitment to excellence today at https://www.staffordsheriff.com/content/employment/currentpositions.cfm
