ROBBERY SUSPECT SOUGHT

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that two hotels were robbed along the Rt. 17 corridor over the holiday weekend. The first robbery took place on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at approximately 6:10 am at the Comfort Suites located at 541 Warrenton Rd. The suspect entered the business, made contact with the clerk and demanded money. The suspect was holding up a black bag which the clerk believed contained a gun. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The second robbery occurred on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:47 am at the America’s Best Value Inn located at 605 Warrenton Road. The suspect entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect held up a black bag that the clerk believed was covering a weapon. The suspect was last seen on foot heading south toward I-95.

Detectives believe that the same suspect is responsible for both robberies. The suspect in both robberies is described as a black male reported to be between 5’9’’ and 5’11” tall, medium build. The suspect was wearing either a black hoodie or a black hooded jacket and dark colored pants. At the time of the robberies the suspect’s face was covered with either a black mask or black bandana.
