The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to report that April 12 – April 18 is National Telecommunicator Week. The Sheriff’s Office would like to recognize the outstanding efforts of the Communication Officers that man the Stafford County Emergency Communications Center, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Communication Officers receive and process all calls for service via 9-1-1 (both landline and cell phones) as well as emergency and non-emergency administrative telephone calls. The ECC handles all outgoing calls in support of operations and provides dispatch services for all public safety responses and support non-emergency county functions during non-county business hours.

In 2014 the Emergency Communications Center dispatched 145,348 law enforcement calls for service and 18,599 calls for service for Fire & Rescue. “The Stafford County Community is indeed fortunate to have such dedicated professionals delivering this extremely important service,” states Sheriff Charles Jett. “The importance of this job cannot be overstated. The Communication Officers provide information or services that save lives or property on a daily basis.”
