| STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – Throughout the day on May 21, 2026, units responded to two separate reports of suspicious persons and a motor vehicle theft near McWhirt Loop.
As detectives were investigating the previous incidents, at approximately 11:49 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a juvenile runaway report near Plantation Drive. At the same time, units were also alerted to a business alarm at a nearby tobacco and vape shop.
Upon arriving on scene, deputies observed a broken window and store merchandise on the ground. They then received a notification from the juvenile's mother that the missing juvenile had been found with a second juvenile.
After reviewing all available evidence and information, detectives began identifying links between the missing juvenile, the breaking and entering and several recent motor vehicle thefts.
Detectives demonstrated outstanding investigative work and were able to determine that the two juveniles were responsible for the theft of the vehicle on McWhirt Loop, the breaking and entering, four additional vehicle thefts over the past month, credit card theft and credit card fraud.
Both juveniles were charged with six counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, five counts of grand larceny, one count of petit larceny, one count of breaking and entering, one count of credit card theft and one count of credit card fraud. The juveniles were held at Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
