| A Woodbridge man was arrested for abduction after two juveniles were able to escape from a hotel.
On October 1st, at approximately 6:54 a.m., Deputy H.H. Cassetta and Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to the Mine Road Commuter Lot for a disturbing report. An off-duty law enforcement officer called in advising he was flagged down by two juveniles. They were claiming to have been kidnapped.
Deputies were quick to arrive and made contact with both juveniles. After confirming their identities, it was discovered one of the juveniles was reported as missing. Despite the frightening ordeal, the juveniles led deputies to the Quality Inn, located at 28 Greenspring Drive, and pointed out the exact room they were being held in. As a result, a male was detained and detectives began their investigation.
Detectives discovered the male was a stranger to the victims when he came in contact with them in Baltimore City, Maryland. The male would then transport them to the hotel. Luckily, both juveniles were able to run away and seek help. Inside the hotel room detectives located suspected controlled substances and items related to prostitution.
The male was identified as Tyronne McDaniel, 54. McDaniel was charged with two counts of abduction, possession of controlled substances, and pandering, a form of human trafficking. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Both juveniles were relinquished to Child Protective Services to be reunited with their families. The investigation is ongoing. |
