This morning, shortly after 3:00 a.m., deputies responded to the area of Kings Highway and River Bend Drive for a motor vehicle crash. It was advised a vehicle had flipped into a ditch.

When deputies arrived, they located a Honda Civic off the roadway. The vehicle was occupied by a 32-year-old male, who unfortunately, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation, along with crash scene evidence collected by our Traffic Safety Unit, revealed the vehicle was traveling westbound when it overcorrected and the driver lost control. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. The crash is still under investigation by Deputy S.C. Martin.
