Two juveniles were reported as runaways only to be located hours later in an intoxicated state.
On June 13th at approximately 5:40 p.m. Deputy R.H. Ryan responded to Rock Hill Church Road for a runaway report. The reporting party advised two male juveniles took off after being upset over “house rules.” They were entered as runaways before Deputy Ryan continued on with his shift.
At 9:24 p.m. Deputy Ryan would respond to the Dollar Tree, located at 1115 Garrisonville Road, for a public intoxication report. The caller advised two teenagers were in the area and appeared heavily intoxicated. As soon as Deputy Ryan arrived on scene, he was able to identify the pair as his runaways from earlier. The missing duo would admit to stealing 14 Buzzballz from the Neighborhood Walmart. Due to their level of intoxication, they were transported to a nearby hospital, where they would act in a disruptive manner and yell curse words at each other.
After being medically cleared, the two received criminal complaints for larceny, public intoxication, and using abusive language. Juvenile Intake denied detention, so the two were released to a responsible guardian. |
