June 12, 2025

Neighborhoods along Richmond Highway were struck with numerous vehicle break ins that the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating.

On June 11th just prior to 4:00 a.m. deputies began receiving calls related to vehicle break ins and vehicle tampering. These calls would continue all morning and spread across multiple neighborhoods. These neighborhoods include the Potomac Hills Subdivision, the Stone River Subdivision, the Clearview Mobile Home Park, and the Potomac Village Subdivision. All of the neighborhoods have easy access to Richmond Highway.

A number of personal items were reported stolen, including cash, credit cards, high-end clothing, iPads, a firearm, and even a Hyundai. Ring footage showed four masked individuals involved.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are continuing their efforts to unmask the suspects. As they do, we encourage residents to remove anything of value from your vehicle. This can help reduce the risk of becoming a victim. We also encourage residents to double check their vehicle is locked before going to bed. A number of victims from yesterday had their vehicles unlocked.

If you have any information or video related to these larcenies, please contact Detective S.M. Craig at 540-658-4450.
