Two individuals, both wanted for separate incidents, were located as they attempted to ride through Stafford County unnoticed.
On June 9th at approximately 6:51 a.m. Deputy C.M. Sterne was traveling on Richmond Highway in the area of Austin Park Drive when he noticed a Silverado. This Silverado caught his eye due to the registered owner being wanted. Deputy Sterne conducted a traffic stop as Deputy C.S. Harding responded to assist.
The driver was identified as Emilio Sanchez Linares, 41, of Alexandria. While Linares was not the driver they were looking for, it was discovered he too was wanted. Linares was wanted out of Caroline County for three felony fraud charges. Deputy Sterne detained the driver as Deputy Harding identified the passenger. The passenger was identified as Shawn Vaughn, 49, of Maryland. Vaughn was wanted out of Baltimore Maryland for armed carjacking, first degree assault, armed robbery, carjacking, use of a firearm during a violent crime, robbery, second degree assault, unlawful taking of a vehicle, and theft of a vehicle. With a jumbo-sized rap sheet, Vaughn was also detained.
Sanchez was served on his outstanding warrants and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond. Vaughn was charged with fugitive from justice and was held without bond.
Great work to Deputy Sterne and Deputy Harding for proving once again wanted individuals shouldn’t travel through Stafford. |
