An intoxicated driver had his ride stopped thanks to a quick acting citizen.
On May 23rd, at approximately 11:43 p.m., Deputy C.A. Osborne responded to the area of Cambridge Street and Warrenton Road for a drunk driver complaint. It was advised a vehicle was stopped in the left turn lane with an unresponsive driver.
When Deputy Osborne arrived, he located the vehicle still unmoved. The driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming approximately four mixed drinks. It was discovered a concerned citizen observed the driver stopped in the turn lane in an intoxicated state and decided to take the keys in order to prevent the driver from continuing on.
The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond.
Great work to the observant citizen who stopped this drunk driver. |
