Two parked vehicles received a good amount of damages after a repeat DUI driver crashed into them Sunday evening.
On April 27th at approximately 5:49 p.m. Deputy S.M. Kotter responded to the Sheetz parking lot, located at 15 Wyche Road, for an auto accident. It was advised a Subaru struck two parked vehicles. Before Deputy Kotter arrived, Fire and Rescue staff did and located the at fault driver still behind the wheel of the running Subaru. It was discovered the at fault driver was traveling on Courthouse Road when he went off the road, through the grass, and into the parking lot. Luckily, no one was injured. Deputy Kotter made contact with the driver, identified as Jesus Rodriguez, 29, of Stafford. Rodriguez displayed signs of being under the influence as he attempted to explain he had left from Stafford and was going to Stafford. It would also be discovered not only was the vehicle uninsured, but this was not his first DUI.
Due to Jesus taking the wheel, he was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five years and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
A booking photo for Rodriguez is not currently available. |
