A stolen vehicle was recovered yesterday after it crashed in South Stafford and the driver fled the scene.

On November 8th at approximately 11:57 a.m. Deputy R.A. Weatherholtz responded to Noble Court for a report of a single vehicle auto accident. A witness observed the vehicle enter Noble Court at a high rate of speed, lose control, and strike both a fire hydrant and street sign. Immediately after the crash, the driver fled the scene.

When Deputy Weatherholtz arrived on scene he located the damaged vehicle. It was discovered that the vehicle was stolen out of Prince William County the previous day. A perimeter was established in hopes of locating the driver; however, due to the major head start the driver had, deputies were unable to locate him. The registered owner of the vehicle was notified and will be receiving their vehicle shortly.

The suspect was described as a younger white male wearing a paint splashed jacket, a black face mask, and blue jeans. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Office at 540-658-4450.
