A wanted 21-year-old Stafford man, who was under the influence, assaulted deputies during a Sunday incident.
On October 8th at approximately 4:01 p.m. deputies responded to a residence on Westminster Lane for an unknown problem. The caller advised Jayshon Bates appeared to be under the influence and was being violent. Bates was wanted out of Stafford County for two capiases.
When deputies arrived, two parties were physically restraining Bates due to his behavior. Deputies took over and were able to detain Bates, despite his continuous attempts to resist. During their struggle, Bates assaulted two deputies.
Bates was charged with two counts of assault and battery on law enforcement, as well as, obstruction of justice. He was also served on his outstanding warrants. Bates was held at Rappahannock Regional jail without bond. |
