A juvenile wanted out of two jurisdictions put up a fight yesterday as detectives attempted to detain him.
On the morning of September 27th Stafford detectives were contacted by a detective with the Fredericksburg Police Department. It was advised a juvenile, who was residing in Stafford, was wanted out of Hampton for failure to appear, as well as Fredericksburg for misdemeanor larceny and grand larceny of a firearm. It was quickly determined Stafford detectives would attempt to locate him and detain him.
At approximately 12:20 p.m. detectives and deputies responded to Stonegate Place to make contact with the juvenile. It would not take long for the juvenile to start resisting arrest. He would refuse commands, yell towards officers, attempt to take a detective’s firearm, kick a deputy, and even bite a detective. After a brief struggle, the juvenile was detained.
On top of the outstanding charges, charges for assault and battery on law enforcement and obstruction of justice were filed. No officers were seriously injured during the incident. |
