A Stafford juvenile attempted to lie in order to get out of trouble, only to get himself in more trouble.

On September 22nd at 11:45 p.m. Deputy J.W. Ahern pulled over a vehicle at the Mattress Firm, located at 1240 Stafford Market Place. As he approached the vehicle, the vehicle fled from the traffic stop. Deputies would locate the vehicle unoccupied behind the 5 Below moments later. Within the vehicle were personal belongings of the registered owner’s son.

Deputy Ahern responded to the registered owner’s residence in order to discover what occurred. While there, he met with the juvenile who advised the vehicle was stolen from him. He advised three individuals robbed him for his car keys and stole the vehicle. While investigating the robbery claim, Deputy Ahern noticed indications the juvenile might not be telling the whole truth.

It was later discovered the juvenile was still in possession of the keys, despite him advising they were stolen. With this evidence, Deputy Ahern questioned the juvenile once again on what occurred, this time the juvenile told the truth. No robbery had occurred and he was in fact the driver that fled from the traffic stop. The juvenile advised he did so due to him having a suspended license.

Due to the juvenile’s actions, instead of having a criminal complaint for driving while suspended, the juvenile now had criminal complaints for eluding, filing a false report to police, as well as, driving while suspended filed.
