One Stafford teenager should have stayed with playing the video game Grand Theft Auto instead of attempting a real-life version.

On August 30th at approximately 7:31 p.m. Deputy J.W. Ahern responded to the area of Spotted Tavern Road for a disturbance. The caller advised there was a young male riding on a red ATV around the neighborhood. While responding to that report, Deputy Ahern was informed of another call. That caller advised a known juvenile stole her family member's red ATV.

It didn’t take a detective to deduce the two calls were related. Deputy Ahern began looking in the area until he located the juvenile. The juvenile was caught red handed on the red ATV and was detained. Not only did the juvenile steal a vehicle valued over $1,000, making it grand larceny, but he damaged it during his dangerous joyride.

The ATV and its owner were reunited. Criminal complaints were filed for grand larceny and destruction of property. Considering it was not the juveniles first attempt living like GTA, Juvenile Intake decided to detain the juvenile for the incident.

Great work to Deputy Ahern for your amazing work once again.
