Two individuals were arrested following a larceny where a “chuck-full” of items were stolen. During the investigation, a chuck-full of narcotics were discovered as well.

On August 19th at approximately 5:09 p.m. Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded to Walmart, located at 11 Village Parkway, for a larceny. Staff advised they observed a female conceal items into a duffel bag. As the bag grew wider and wider with more stolen items, staff confronted the suspect. The suspect exited the store, initiating the alarm, and fled to a vehicle. Staff was able to get a description of the suspect vehicle prior to it fleeing.

Deputy J.A. Brooks was heading home after his shift when he happened to observe the suspect vehicle. Instead of continuing home, Deputy Brooks got a bit of overtime as he conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 200 block of Warrenton Road. While talking with the female passenger about the larceny report, a bag filled with suspected controlled substances fell out of her shirt. Despite it being tucked in her clothes she lied about knowing what it was. She also lied by providing a false identity.

The female passenger was identified as Natalie Hardee, 40, of Woodbridge. It was discovered she was wanted out of Prince William and Henrico County for failure to appear. During the search of the vehicle, not only was the over $1,000 of stolen items recovered, but even more suspected controlled substances belonging to both suspects.

The driver, Brian Padgett, 36, of Annandale, was charged with two counts of possession of controlled substances. Hardee was charged with false identity to law enforcement, grand larceny, and two counts of possession of controlled substances. She was also served on her outstanding warrants. Both were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
