A nearly nine-month investigation into an England Run shooting has finally paid off as two Stafford individuals are now being charged with multiple felonies, including attempted murder.

On November 28th, 2022, just before 4:00 p.m. deputies responded to Elkton Drive in the England Run North Apartments for multiple calls of shots fired. Deputies learned a red sedan had fled the scene. Deputy S.A. Russo located the red sedan on Enon Road and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, increased his speed and initiated a pursuit. The pursuit ended near Potomac Creek when Deputy Russo conducted a rolling road block. Within the vehicle were two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The driver was later charged with felony eluding; however, there was little information on the shooting.

Despite the limited information, detectives have been working nonstop on this investigation. Over the course of the investigation, detectives collected evidence during unrelated incidents to piece together what occurred. It was discovered the shooting followed an arranged fight. Two shooters were identified as Markus Collins, 33, of Stafford and Jayden Jones, 19, of Stafford. As a result, a grand jury hearing was held leading to the issuance of direct indictments. Both Collins and Jones were taken into custody without incident on August 14th.

Collins was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, two counts of malicious wounding by mob, two counts of attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm, and four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Jones was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, two counts of malicious wounding by mob, two counts of attempted murder, and four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Both were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Amazing work to our detectives for their hard work in this investigation. With that being said, the investigation is still ongoing. If anyone has information, please contact Detective J.T. Lynch at 540-658-4450.
