A wanted Fredericksburg man was discovered with drugs and deposited to jail after a difficult discussion with his mother.

On August 2nd at approximately 2:50 p.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea was doing his daily duties while on Warrenton Road. The deluxe deputy observed a male walking in his direction which made him delighted due to the dude matching the description of someone wanted. Deputy Gildea decided to double down and come in contact with him at Wawa, located at 9 South Gateway Drive.

The suspect looked as if he wanted to dip, disappear, and delay the inevitable; however, he did not decline to devote himself to the discussion. Deputy Gildea double checked and determined the suspect was in fact wanted for possession of a controlled substance. To avoid any danger or have the suspect dance away, deputies detained him and declared he was wanted.

During a search incident to arrest, deputies took a deep dive into his bag to discover not a dictionary or dimes, but it was decorated with dangerous suspected drugs. Originally, the suspect denied they were his and declared they had to be someone else’s; however, when his alibi decayed due to lack of details, he confessed. Prior to his departure to Rappahannock Regional Jail, his mother dropped by for a difficult disclosure. She informed him of the dark dangers of drugs, that he needed to deal with the consequences, but most importantly, despite everything, she loved him.

The suspect was charged with possession of controlled substances, as well as, served on his outstanding warrant. He was deposited to Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond prior to dinner.
