Despite Bud Light’s recent drop in stocks, one loyal Stafford drinker earned a warrant after drinking too many during rush hour.

On July 28th at approximately 6:04 p.m. while many were taking Richmond Highway to get home and enjoy their weekend, Deputy C.M. Sterne was looking for a reckless driver. The reporting party advised the vehicle was having a rather hard time maintaining their lane. It wouldn’t take Deputy Sterne too long to locate the suspect vehicle at the Fasmart, located at 620 Cambridge Street.

As soon as Deputy Sterne made contact with the driver, he detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the 52-year-old’s person. When asked how many drinks he had, the driver gave the answer a good deal of drivers do, two beers. It was later determined it was more than just two considering the graveyard of Bud Light cans located within the vehicle.

The driver was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.

Drive sober or get pulled over, no matter the brand of alcohol.
