Who doesn’t enjoy a two for one deal? The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t when its two intoxicated drivers in a crash. On Thursday evening two Honda Civics met head-on in Stafford County resulting in the arrest of both drivers for driving under the influence.

On July 13th at 8:34 p.m. deputies responded to a head-on crash in the 1800 block of Mountain View Road. The investigation revealed a westbound silver Honda Civic driven by Tyler Austin, 18, had crossed the center double-yellow and struck a blue Honda Civic.

Deputy R.T. Philippsen found Austin had a suspended license and a suspected controlled substance. Austin was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, driving suspended, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,500 bond.

Meanwhile, Deputy A.M. Pitts identified the driver of the eastbound blue Honda Civic as a 59-year-old female from Stafford. The driver had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Field sobriety tests were offered and she was arrested for DUI second offense in 5-10 years. She was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 bond.

Deputy P.J. Leon photographed and documented the crash scene. There were no serious injuries.

Plan ahead and have a sober ride!
