An intoxicated Stafford man added to his charges yesterday after throwing the contents of his cup at a deputy.

On July 15th at 3:57 p.m. Deputy W.A. Bolinsky, Jr. responded to the area of Plantation Drive and Lichfield Boulevard for an intoxicated person. A witness reported an intoxicated male was stumbling into the road and a young child was having to guide the man back out of the roadway.

Deputy Bolinsky arrived to find Adam Manning, 30, unsteady on his feet with an odor of alcoholic beverage and slurred speech. Arrangements were made to turn the child over to a responsible adult. As Manning learned he was going to be arrested, he commented that he would not be taken today and proceeded to throw the liquid from his cup on Deputy Bolinsky.

Manning was in fact taken and added assault on law enforcement to his public intoxication and contributing to the delinquency of a minor charges. Additionally, deputies learned Manning had been involved in a single vehicle crash earlier in the day that was not reported, which earned him a hit and run charge. Manning was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $4,000 bond.
