If the doors are locked, that should be a hint the building is closed. One Stafford man didn’t take the hint, and instead broke into a hospital.

On June 19th at approximately 1:51 a.m. Deputy C.T. Richardson responded to Stafford Hospital, located at 101 Hospital Center Boulevard, for a report of a disturbance. Hospital security advised a male physically broke into the hospital, despite the hospital being closed at this hour.

When Deputy Richardson arrived on scene, he observed a glass panel of the front door had been removed. It was advised the suspect was still in the building. With the help of hospital security, the suspect was located on the third floor and taken into custody. He was identified as Tyreek Ware, 39, a man Stafford County is very familiar with, considering he was arrested for public intoxication and stopping traffic on the Falmouth Bridge the day prior. When asked why he broke into the hospital, Ware did not provide a clear answer.

Camera footage showed Ware first arrive at the building and begin banging on the door. After a few attempts, he switched from fists to feet and kicked out one of the glass panels. He then crawled his way into the hospital. Ware would interfere with nightly operations of the hospital personnel until he was placed into custody.

Ware was charged with entering a property to damage, disorderly conduct, as well as, felony destruction of property. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
