A Stafford man got himself caught with another DUI yesterday afternoon after crashing his vehicle into a utility pole.

On May 16th at approximately 12:20 p.m. Deputy G.P. McCaulley responded to Ramoth Church Road for a report of a single vehicle crash. A vehicle went off the roadway and struck the guide wires of a utility pole.

The driver, identified as Asiel Butler, 30, advised he “blacked out” and didn’t remember the crash. That being said, Butler was exhibiting signs of being under the influence. During a search of his person, suspected controlled substances were located.

Deputy McCaulley did not charge Butler with his first DUI. Not even his second or third. Deputy McCaulley charged Butler with his fourth DUI within ten years. He was also charged with possession of controlled substances, failure to maintain control of a vehicle, and refusal. Butler was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
