It’s frustrating not winning the lottery, we’ve all been there. One Linden woman got so frustrated she took it out on her burrito, which resulted in an arrest.

On February 25th at approximately 11:26 a.m. Deputy J.T. Davidson responded to a call of a disturbance. The caller advised a known woman was “tearing up” her vehicle and even threw her burrito at the window. This incident started due to the suspect being a bit upset over her lottery ticket.

When Deputy Davidson arrived on scene, he made contact with the suspect, Darlene Locklear, 31. Locklear appeared to be under the influence due to her pinpoint pupils and jerky motions. As Deputy Davidson attempted to question her about the situation, Locklear would only responded with “That’s irrelevant sir”. Clearly it was relevant and Locklear was placed under arrest for public intoxication.

When her backpack was opened for a search, Deputy Davidson was greeted by multiple syringes which held suspected controlled substances. Bullets were located at the bottom of the backpack which resulted in a warrant for possession of ammunition by a felon.

Locklear was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail where she was charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and ammunition possession by a felon. She was held without bond.
