A repeat DUI offender was jailed Friday night after an illegal U-turn.

On October 14th at 8:28 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett observed a Chevy Equinox perform an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Warrenton Road and Sanford Drive. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as David Chambers, Jr., 38, of Stafford.

Deputy Jett noticed Chambers had glassy eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. Furthermore, Chambers driver’s license was revoked and he had a prior DUI.

Chambers was arrested for DUI second offense in five years and driving revoked. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
