Deputies wrote a prescription for a wanted Maryland man. Side effects may include jail time.

On September 29th, at approximately 1:18 p.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea responded to CVS Pharmacy at 1 McWhirt Loop for a call of a fraudulent prescription. An employee received a fax from a Maryland doctor for medication; however, the quantity was unusually large. The doctor’s office was contacted and they confirmed it to be fraudulent.

The employee already advised the patient that their prescription was ready, so deputies were patient and waited for the patient. At 4:32 p.m. Deputy C.R. Szentkuti observed an individual at the register attempt to pick up the drugs.

The individual, Larry Tunstall, 23, was detained. While conversing with Tunstall, it was discovered he was wanted out of Maryland for fourteen charges, to include prescription fraud, drug possession, and eluding law enforcement. Tunstall was charged with identity theft, obtaining drugs by fraudulent means, as well as, a fugitive from justice warrant was executed for the Maryland charges. Tunstall was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail where he received the healthy dose of no bond.
