A threat at a Stafford County school yesterday resulted in a lockdown and a juvenile being charged.

On September 1st at 1:33 p.m. Deputy B.E. Abramaitys, the Mountain View High School Resource Officer, was made aware of a social media threat of violence involving a student in the school. As a precaution, Mountain View High School was placed on a lockdown as the investigation unfolded.

As a result of the investigation, a juvenile student was charged with making terroristic threats and placed in the Juvenile Detention Center. A handgun was seized from the juvenile’s home.

Thank you for your patience as we conducted this investigation to ensure the safety of students and staff. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office and Stafford County Public Schools are committed to providing a safe learning environment for students. Please continue to report any suspicious activity to our office at 540-658-4400 or 911.
