A Fredericksburg man was arrested after a gun fight broke out at a local tire shop.

On August 29th, at approximately 11:44 a.m. Deputy M.E. Gordon was driving South on Warrenton Road when multiple people standing outside Tires & Wheels Unlimited, 289 Warrenton Road, attempted to flag her down. A male, later identified as Timothy Greenage, 33, ran towards Deputy Gordon as he was bleeding from his abdomen. Greenage advised an employee of Tires and Wheels Unlimited had shot him. Greenage advised he had gotten into a verbal altercation with an employee due to the business supposedly charging Greenage’s niece extra for repairs.

The employee who shot Greenage remained on scene as multiple deputies responded. Greenage was taken to the hospital as the scene was processed. The employee advised Greenage threatened them over the phone before arriving on scene. When Greenage arrived, they had a verbal altercation before Greenage pushed the employee and pulled out a firearm to threaten them. The employee fired their own firearm in self-defense, striking Greenage in the abdomen. Greenage fired his handgun several times, but luckily did not hit anyone within the business.

After investigating the scene, and talking to multiple witnesses, it was determined that Greenage initiated the altercation and the employee acted in self-defense. After Greenage was treated for his injuries, he was charged with reckless handling of a firearm and assault and battery. Greenage was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond.
