A Spotsylvania woman was arrested and faces several charges after a serious accident on Brooke Road last Sunday night.

On June 12th at 8:16 p.m. Deputy J.K. Griffith responded to an auto accident in the 700 block of Brooke Road. The investigation revealed Sydney Jenkins, 22, was driving a silver Mitsubishi Mirage and crossed the center lines in a curve. She struck a black Kia Optima approaching from the opposite direction.

A passenger in Jenkins’ vehicle suffered several broken bones and was transported to the hospital for her injuries. Both Jenkins and the other driver were transported for non-life-threatening injuries.

Jenkins was subsequently charged with DUI, DUI maiming and the traffic lane violation. She was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
