A Manassas man was arrested for several charges yesterday after a dispute at a local restaurant.

On April 17th at 8:34 a.m. Sergeant N. Zotos, Deputy D.T. Aubrecht, and Deputy W.M. Isenberg responded to the Waffle House at 580 Warrenton Road for a disturbance with a weapon. The investigation revealed Keith Williams, 49, had approached an employee of the restaurant and accused the employee of texting Williams’ girlfriend. The victim did not know Williams and had no idea what he was talking about.

Williams proceeded to brandish a knife and unleash a string of obscenities while threatening to stab the victim. When Williams realized law enforcement had been called, he left on foot toward the Clarion Inn. The victim was not injured during the disturbance.

Deputies located Williams in the Clarion Inn parking lot and gave commands to take him into custody. Williams initially went to the ground, but resisted efforts to apply handcuffs. Deputies used a taser to effect the arrest. The knife was recovered from Williams’ pocket.

Williams was charged with attempted malicious wounding, disorderly conduct, and obstruction. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
