Two suspects were taken into custody last night for several charges after a traffic stop on Warrenton Road.

On January 28 at 9:56 p.m., Deputy R.S. Dominguez conducted a traffic stop on a 2017 Jaguar XE at the intersection of Warrenton Road and Plantation Drive. The driver was identified as Tristen Smith, 22, and the passenger was identified as Summer Pennington, 23, both of Spotsylvania. Both Smith and Pennington were found to have outstanding warrants and were taken into custody. The outstanding warrants were the result of a long term drug investigation by Detective N.J. Chiappini.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies located suspected controlled substances. Smith and Pennington were each charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics and conspiracy to distribute narcotics.

Smith was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond and Pennington was ordered held on a $10,000 bond.
