November 30, 2020

On November 25 at 11:49 a.m., Deputy B.W. Gildea was on patrol when he observed a vehicle leaving the Red Roof Inn (386 Warrenton Road). The deputy ran the vehicle’s license plate number and discovered the plates were inactive and belonged on a different vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle stopped in the Route 17 Commuter Lot. Deputy Gildea identified the driver as Saquan Bundy, 23, of Mechanicsville, and the front seat passenger as Chifauwn Jones, 29, of Fredericksburg.

Deputy Gildea ran Bundy’s information and discovered he was wanted out of Northumberland County. Bundy was detained and a digital scale was found in his jacket pocket and a large amount of cash was found in a bag affixed to his chest. A bag containing a controlled substance was also found in his pant leg. Jones was detained and several pre-packaged baggies containing a controlled substance were found in his possession.

Bundy and Jones were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Bundy was also served the outstanding warrant. Both were held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
