Stafford, VA. A suspect was arrested on Saturday by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after breaking into a residence and stealing jewelry and other items.

On May 2, 2020, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Deputy Ludolph responded to a reported breaking and entering at a residence located on Westmoreland Place. The resident told the deputy she returned home from work to find an Alexa speaker, jewelry, and cash missing from the residence. When she left for work, a man identified as Jeremy Bushey, 22, of Fredericksburg was mowing the lawn. When she returned several hours later, he was still outside in the area.

Upon arrival, Deputy Haines located Bushey riding his bike a few streets away from the residence. The deputy determined the suspect was intoxicated and took him into custody. A stolen watch and ring were located on his person. A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence yielded several other items that were stolen from the victim’s residence.

The suspect was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond on charges of breaking and entering, grand larceny, credit card theft, and public intoxication.
