Stafford, VA. A suspect behind a disturbance at a convenience store on Monday afternoon was arrested by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office following a pursuit.

On March 30, 2020, at approximately 1:46 p.m., Sgt. Zotos responded to the Sunoco located at 488 Garrisonville Road regarding a disturbance. The owner advised that a male subject was breaking things and then left in an older model white sedan.

While the sergeant was attempting to locate the vehicle, a call came out nearby regarding a fight in progress in area of the 100 block of Babcock Road. Upon arrival, the sergeant located the vehicle from the disturbance, which quickly accelerated and nearly struck the cruiser. The suspect vehicle drove away from the scene at a high rate of speed and a pursuit ensued.

The pursuit went for just over a tenth of a mile, ending with the suspect striking a parked vehicle and driving into a wooden fence. The suspect then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A K9 unit and the drone team arrived and attempted to track the suspect, but were unable to locate him. The suspect was identified as Marcus Todd, 19, of Fredericksburg.

This morning, deputies located Todd in the area of the Target located at 25 South Gateway Drive and took him into custody. He was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on charges of felony eluding, felony hit and run, and driving suspended.
